Ginger The pictures of your trip are fantastic. It makes me feel like I was along for the ride. We had a nice father's day w/ Pops and did a slide show of pictures from trips to Europe .Uncle Bill and I are going to New Orleans this weekend and looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Looking forward to hearing about your trip. love Nannie Ann
Hey Ginger - It's mom Glad you are back safe and sound. The pictures are great - I love the Hippo's. Christopher and I are having a busy week. He has three baseball games this week. Tonight we had several of his friends over for steaks. He put a little to much lighter fluid on the goals which gave the steaks a little bit of a weird taste. Now the girls have arrived. We are watching a replay of the South Africa and France match. It must be exciting to be in Africa right now. I am glad they won. I am going to Jackson on business Thursday. The weekend will be quiet. We were going to go to Dolphin Island but the beaches are closed. Let me know how the work with the children is going. Keep up the good work. Everyone asks about you. love mom
Hi Gin, It's Granny. YOur pictures are great-were you just on a fun trip or was some of it work. As Nanny Ann said, we had a great Father's Day with them and with your Mom and Katie. We celebrated Father's Day again last night at Uncle Michael's-it was also his birthday. They are puttng a pool in. Tomorrow night we will celebrate Emily's birthday . The birthday isn't until July 1 but she will be in Guatemala on a Mission trip so we will celebrate early. Keep up the blogs. Love, Granny and Pops
My partner, Meagan Brown, and I are applied medical anthropologists, which is the study of medical systems, health, and disease in different cultures. We also study how health might be improved for people in different cultures. We have been asked to do an evaluation of an HIV education program for children. The education program was developed by the Savannah Sunrise Foundation, which is a non-profit organization based out of Kampala, Uganda. This summer Meagan and I will be living in Kampala for June and July to begin the next stages of our evaluation. Our major goals for this summer are to wrap up our evaluation and set up SAS to continue to evaluate themselves successfully. We also plan to do some traveling around the country to see the different places where the program has been implemented over the past year. For sure we will be traveling to Gulu, but a couple of other places are in the works. Below I have placed a couple of links if you are interested in learning more about Uganda and the people we will be working with.
